Merry Christmas from the Stand True Family.

Merry Christmas from the Stand True Family.

I sat in Church on Sunday morning listening to the sermon and it was hard to concentrate on what my pastor was saying. It was not that he was not giving a great sermon or that I was bored or any thing like that. I just have such a hard time thinking of anything other that Charlie Brown and Linus when I read Luke chapter 2.

I am not trying to trivialize the Holy Word of God by comparing it to a cartoon. I just love how bold and simple the message is given in the Charlie Brown Christmas cartoon. I love Christmas time and I love all the fun family activities we do this time of year. Watching Christmas specials is one of those activities, and there is no better Christmas special on tv in my opinion than "A Charlie Brown Christmas".

I hope you will all have an opportunity to watch "A Charlie Brown Christmas" this year. If you are not able to watch the whole show, here is a video clip of Linus explaining Christmas:

If you can not see the video in this e-mail go here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKk9rv2hUfA

If you are not able to watch the video at all, here is a transcript of the scene:

IN THE AUDITORIUM, CHARLIE BROWN AND LINUS ARE STAGE RIGHT, AND THE REST OF THE PEANUTS GANG ARE STAGE LEFT

CHARLIE BROWN: I guess I really don't know what Christmas is all about.

SHOUTS

Isn't there anybody who knows what Christmas is all about?

LINUS: Sure Charlie Brown, I can tell you what Christmas is all about.

WALKS TO CENTER STAGE

Lights please.

LIGHTS GO DOWN, SPOTLIGHT ON LINUS AS HE RECITES LUKE 2:8-14

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

LIGHTS COME BACK UP AS LINUS WALKS BACK

That's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.

Merry Christmas,

Indiana Planned Parenthood Rape Cover Up Part 2

Indiana Planned Parenthood Rape Cover Up Part 2

Last week I wrote a story entitled" The Abortion Industry and How They Cover Up Child Rape". If you did not have a chance to read that story or see the videos associated with it, click here: http://www.standtrue.com/pages/commentaries/industrycover.htm

This week we are bringing you another video from Lila Rose and Live Action Films. This is another Planned Parenthood in Indiana willing to cover up child rape.

If you can 't see the video in this e-mail click here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTxsWZz9whg

The good news is there are many great organizations like Live Action Films who are fighting against Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry. I told you about flying to Orange County a couple of months ago to speak for a 40 Days for Life vigil; the abortion mill we prayed at is now closed forever. The Pro-life Day of Silent Solidarity saw 57 girls cancel abortion appointments and decide to keep their babies. Events like these and the films from Live Action Films are changing lives and saving babies.

More good news : many of the world ' s youth pro-life organizations have joined together to form the Youth Life Alliance and work on projects together. We talked to Lila Rose , and Live Action Films will be joining the Youth Life Alliance as we work together with many other youth pro-life groups to bring and end to child killing and establish a culture of life.

Please check out http://www.youthlifealliance.com and our action calendar of youth events you can get involved with.

The Abortion Industry Covers Up Child Rape

The Abortion Industry Covers Up Child Rape

Over the past 17 years I have witnessed some of the most grievous and despicable crimes you can imagine. I have spent the last 17 years of my life dedicated to trying to stop many of these crimes , only to have our government pass laws against my efforts and put me in jail for trying to save lives.

In last week's new s letter I talked to you about a tactic we called "Truth Teams". I told you about how I would take a young girl into an abortion clinic and she would ask for a pregnancy test. While I waited for her in the lobby I would pass out pro-life literature and witness to people in the lobby and she would fill the back room with pro-life literature. I told you how on one occasion I witnessed an abortion take place and how that changed my life forever as I committed to God to do this work until babies were not longer being killed.

While the Truth Teams were very effective and we saw many babies saved and women's lives changed from this outreach, it is no longer possible to do. The government has passed what is called the FACE act which makes it a federal offense to do outreaches like this.

Back in the 90's there were two occasions that stick out so clearly in my mind. The girl I would take into the abortion mill with me was only 13 years old. Her parents would usually wait outside and knew what we were doing. This girl was a virgin and had never even kissed a boy in her life, yet twice the abortion mill came out and told us that she was pregnant. They were very clear that they would not report us to law enforcement since I was clearly and adult and she was a child. They told us if we paid them in cash they would do the abortion and not tell anyone.

I know you may be scratching your head right now trying to figure out how a 13 year old virgin who has never even kissed a boy could be pregnant. She obviously wasn't; this fact , however , didn't stop the abortion "doctor" from offering to do an abortion on her (while of course also promising not to tell anyone) .

I have seen so many mind - blowing things like this over the years , and I wonder how the government continues to ignore and protect this industry. Last week another video was released of Planned Parenthood willing to protect adult men from having sex and impregnating 13 year old girls.

Lila Rose and her organization, Live Action Films , have been going undercover to expose Planned Parenthood for who they truly are. This time they caught a nurse on video telling a n investigative reporter posing as a 13 year old girl to lie about her boyfriend's age. She first told her she did not want to know the age, but after being told he was 31 she told the girl to lie. Recently Students for Life of America released a similar investigative video showing the same thing.

I get letters back from people often telling me that while they support me in my pro-life views I am to o harsh on the abortion industry. I am told I should not even use terms like "abortion industry" because it unfairly represents medical clinics.

I do not apologize for one second for the way I have and will continue to portray the abortion industry. This is one of the most corrupt and deceitful industries in the world. Even if you took out the fact they are slaughtering almost 4,000 children a day, the corruption runs deep and organizations like Planned Parenthood must be stopped.

Take a look at these two videos that focus on undercover work done by Live Action Films and Students for Life of America.

Planned Parenthood and the Total Desecration of Christmas

Planned Parenthood and the Total Desecration of Christmas

As most of the Nation celebrates the birth of Christ this Christmas , in Indiana, Planned Parenthood offers gift certificates that can be used for killing your baby. Over the past several years Planned Parenthood has sold "Choice on Earth" Christmas cards and t-shirts each Christmas season. Not only are they raising money to kill babies, the card mocks the birth of Christ.

“Choice on Earth”, the name of the Planned Parenthood card, is a disgusting attempt to spread their message of death while exploiting the celebration of the birth of Christ.

Luke 2:11-14

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

The phrase “peace on earth” is based on this verse from Holy Scripture. Angels were proclaiming peace on earth and I am sure there was no thought of child killing being part of that peace.

What does the word “ choice ” mean in the context of Planned Parenthood's card? It means abortion; it is the choice to kill your baby through abortion. In essence, Planned Parenthood is celebrating Christmas by saying “abortion on earth”. It is ironic that in the day Christ was born, King Herod was having young babies murdered.

King Herod had every boy two years or under killed because of greed, pride, power, and control. These are also some of the same sins Planned Parenthood will instill in a young woman to get her to believe that she should kill her baby.

Planned Parenthood has become a modern day King Herod. They are more concerned with their own greed than the life of an innocent child.

Their greed and selfishness is more important than life itself. They make women feel like there is no other choice for their lives than abortion. They instill in them lies about how bad their lives will be if they give birth. They make them fear losing money, control over their own lives, opportunities, and happiness.

Just like King Herod, Planned Parenthood is more concerned about their own wealth, power and position in life than anything else and they want to pass that way of thinking onto young women and the world.

They are so dedicated to this evil way of thought they are willing to mock the birth of Christ and try to steal the true meaning of Christmas.

Christmas is a time of joy and peace as we ponder the birth of our Savior. It is a time to promote love and life not a time to promote death and hatred.

Planned Parenthood has attempted to steal the meaning of Christmas and distort it as they ignore the very reason we celebrate.

For Christ I stand,

Happy Thanksgiving from Stand True

Happy Thanksgiving from Stand True

I know that times are tough for a lot of people, money is tight, people are afraid of where in nation is heading and not sure of what the future holds.

With that being said I believe we do have a lot to be thankful for this year. In the middle of typing the last sentence my 3 year son, Jaemison, walked in to my office to tell me about an armadillo in the cartoon he just watched. I am so thankful for the family God has blessed me with and am looking forward to child number 6 due in June.

Here at Stand True we are so thankful for all of you who support and pray for us every day. We get messages every day from young people who are excited about the work we are doing and writing to thank us. We are blessed to hear from them how God is using the work and projects of Stand True to help them be a light in their communities.

When I get e-mails from you telling me about how God has used you to witness to your friends and see them change their minds about abortion or lead them to Christ I am brought to tears. I am humbled and honored to be able to work with such amazing people and know that what we do at Stand True is saving lives and souls.

We have a lot to be thankful for this year. Every day we wake up we have a lot to be thankful for as it is a new day to love and serve God. Everyday we wake up God has given us another chance to be a Light in such a dark world and share the hope we have in Christ.

I know that not everyone will have a huge Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. Many of you may be sitting down to a frozen dinner or a meal alone this year. I understand that not all of our situations may be what many people would think is something to be thankful for. The very fact that we have been given life is more than what 1/3 of this generation has been given.

When you sit down on Thanksgiving with your family, friends or whoever you spend the day with, be sure and remember that today was not promised and you have been given the gift of life. Thank God for that gift and ask Him to use you to share the Hope you have with the people He puts in your path every day. Thank your mother and father for choosing life for you, and for giving you the opportunity to love and serve God.

For Christ I stand,

Barack Obama Wants to Hear From Us - Let's Speak Up

Barack Obama Wants to Hear From Us - Let's Speak Up

Barack Obama told us in his speech on election night that he wants to hear from people who disagree with him. His transition web site has a feedback form asking for people to share their vision for his presidency with him. I think we need to speak up and let him know that we want him to protect innocent life.

Before I give you the web site to send him a message I need to make one thing very clear. I do not want anyone to use this to slam Barack Obama or send him hate mail. As much as we may disagree with his stance on life, we must also love him and share our message with love and compassion.

If you do not feel that you can send a respectful and constructive message to him, I ask that you refrain from participating in this challenge.

Here is the letter that I will be sending Barack Obama

Mr Obama

I want to congratulate you on your victory and share with you my vision for your presidency as you have requested on this site.

I want to first let you know that I did not vote for you. I am a strong believer in the sanctity of human life and I was very troubled by the comments you have made that seem to reflect a disrespect for life.

My vision for your presidency is a simple one. I want to see you stand for the rights of every single American, born and pre-born. I want to see you protect life from the moment of fertilization until natural death. I want to be able to trust that my President believes that every single human person has a right to life and is considered equal.

Mr Obama I will pray for you every day. I will pray for our Nation every day. I will pray that some day we as a Nation will end the slaughter of the innocents. I will pray that you will have the courage to stand up for social justice for the most vulnerable and innocent of our citizens, pre-born children.

Social Justice Begins in the Womb.

For Christ I stand,

Pro-choice or Pro-abortion; is There a Difference?

Pro-choice or Pro-abortion; is There a Difference?

I can imagine that some people will start to write and chastise me for the title of this commentary before they even read what I write. It has become very apparent to me that many people don't actually read what is written and consider the points I make; they just like to tell me how wrong I am.

Last week I wrote a response to the election of Barack Obama in which I referred to him as “pro-abortion”. Some of you wrote back to tell me that I was hateful for calling him this or that I was wrong; you claimed that he is pro-choice, not pro-abortion. Some even said that he is pro-life and wants to do everything he can to reduce abortions.

Before I get into what his agenda is and why I stand by my words about his position, I want to tackle the pro-abortion or pro-choice argument or “rhetoric”, which is what this really is about.

The rhetoric war has been won for the most part by what I call the pro-abortion movement. They have themselves adopted the term pro-choice because it sounds a lot nicer than pro-abortion. I have often wondered why they have not changed another term that they use to describe themselves, “abortion rights advocates”. If they are pro-choice and not pro-abortion then why not refer to themselves as “choice rights advocates”?

Let's break down the words and examine what they mean. “Pro” obviously means that you are in support of something. Pro-gun, pro-gay rights, pro-life, pro-union; these are all terms that describe something you support. Why is it then that the term pro-abortion is not used proudly?

The term “pro-choice” should really embody all of the “pro” stances on every issue; it shouldn't just define one issue. When someone refers to themselves as pro-choice, what choice are they referring to? Abortion. So what they are saying is that they believe it is fine for someone to obtain an abortion, which makes them pro-abortion. If you believe people have the right to form and join unions even if you would never join one, you are pro-union. Would you be angry that someone referred to you as pro-union? Would you say I just believe in the choice to join a union, but I am not pro-union? Of course not.

The use of the word choice shows that it is all about the stigma of being called pro-abortion; is there a stigma if there is nothing wrong with abortion? Why would people be so opposed to being referred to as pro-abortion if abortion is perfectly acceptable?

To answer that we have to determine what abortion is. Is abortion simply the termination of a pregnancy? Is abortion just a medical procedure that removes unwanted cell masses from your body, like liposuction?

The answer to those questions is a resounding no. Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy, but what is a pregnancy? The Random House dictionary definition of pregnant reads: having a child or other offspring developing in the body; with child or young, as a woman or female mammal. The Cambridge Dictionary reads: of a woman and some female animals having young developing inside the womb.

Abortion is the termination or killing of a developing human person in the early stages of their life. It is that simple. We can try and sanitize it with words or phrases but that does not change what it is.

There are a lot of things that are unpleasant that people or organizations try to make less appalling by changing the words used to describe them. As a parent I am guilty of this myself. When my children need to defecate I do not use that term; I say “go potty”. Does this change the fact that they are defecating? No, it just makes it sound less gross and nasty.

That is why the pro-abortion movement wants to be referred to as pro-choice, not pro-abortion; abortion carries a stigma that they don't want to be identified with. The difference is that there is nothing wrong with defecating; it is natural and how our bodies were created to work. There is, however, something wrong with abortion; it is un-natural and destroys one of the natural functions of a woman's body.

We should not give into the sanitization of abortion; it needs to be exposed for what it is. We should not allow rhetoric to define how we describe an evil like the killing of innocent human persons.

I have often heard people say that they would love to see abortion reduced or minimized. Why? If there is nothing immoral or wrong about abortion then why would we care how many people had them? Why would we want to reduce something that is perfectly ok? If you want to reduce them then you must think there is something wrong with them; what is it that is wrong?

This is one of the ways that Barack Obama has tried to characterize himself to people. He tries to sound like he is not the pro-abortion advocate that he really is. His own words and record contradict that; what he will do as President will be dangerous and devastating to this nation and the world.

This week we have already heard that he will be reversing lifesaving Executive Orders that will result in the destruction of human life worldwide. He plans to reverse the Mexico City Policy which blocks the US Government from giving money to organizations who provide abortion in other countries. We will be paying for abortions overseas with our tax dollars. He will open up the funding of destruction of human embryos for research paid for with your tax dollars.

This is just the beginning of the destruction of human life that has been and will continue to be championed by Barack Obama. During the primary season he spoke at a Planned Parenthood event and promised them that he one of the first things he would do as President is sign the FOCA bill into law. The Freedom of Choice Act will wipe out all restrictions on abortion in this country. There will be no more parental notification, no restrictions whatsoever including the Partial Birth Abortion Ban and an increase in federal funding of abortion.

How can you say you want to reduce abortions, and wipe out every restriction there is, and fund abortion in the US and other countries with US tax dollars? The pro-life movement and, more importantly, the sanctity of human life will be set back over 30 years once Barack Obama takes the Office of President.

I have been told that speaking negatively about the President is hateful and disrespectful. I have been told that I need to support our new President and just pray for him. I agree that we need to pray for him, and pray hard. I however disagree that pointing out the truth of what he plans to do, and has promised to do is hateful in any way. I would even argue that silence would be hateful; apathy and acceptance of his plans would be disrespectful to those whose lives are in jeopardy.

I know that God is still on the throne and He is sovereign. I know that God is not worried, panicking or hiding in a corner in fear. I know that He is still our King and our only hope is in His Son, Jesus.

I also know that He commands us to “ love our neighbor as ourselves ” (Luke 10:27). When our neighbors are dying by the thousands every day in this nation, we have an obligation to stand up and fight for their lives. God calls us to “ rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter ” (Proverbs 24:11).

I will not cheapen the sanctity of life or sanitize the pro-abortion movement by using the term pro-choice. I will not sit quietly by as my brothers and sisters are being slaughtered in abortion mills every day. I will pray for, but not support, our President as he opens the floodgates and destroys all regulations and restrictions against the killing of innocent children.

Logic 101

A fetus is a human being.

Killing a human being is wrong.

Abortion is killing a human being.

Abortion is wrong.

To say you are pro-choice but not pro-abortion, is simply illogical.

For Christ I stand,

Will Our Passion Turn Back To Apathy After The Election?

Will Our Passion Turn Back To Apathy After The Election?

One of the most positive things I have seen from this election is passion. There seems to be something about this election, more than any other I have seen in my time, which brings out a passion in this generation. The unfortunate thing about this is that it also sheds light on the apathy that has plagued us for so many years.

Most of my friends know that I am not your typical “right wing voter”. I have not voted for a major party for President in the last three elections. I have always said that I vote more for whom or what I believe in, than just to win or beat the other party. I personally don't believe that either of the mainstream political parties truly represents my beliefs very much at all.

This election for me is different from any of the other ones I have been involved with. I honestly believe that there is more at stake than any other time I can remember and I have wrestled more than I ever have about whom to vote for. Some may even say that I am compromising or being somewhat pragmatic when I never have before.

As much I am not a pragmatist, I have to look at the reality what could actually happen in the next four years. I believe in my heart that we could see a devastating attack on life and innocent children like we have never seen before.

Knowing how much this election has troubled me and how it has affected my vote more than any other, I also see what it has done to this generation. I have seen an awakening of passion, commitment, drive, boldness and pure excitement that I have not seen before. I have seen this on both sides of the political coin, and I am ecstatic about this. In an age when apathy seems to flow through the veins of America's youth, we are seeing action take over.

I talked to some friends the other day about some of the political talk I have been hearing around town. I told them about people wanting to fly their flag upside down if a certain candidate was elected. You may think that is disrespectful to the flag, but is actually is an accepted signal for a nation in distress; there is no disrespect in this action.

I decided to see what kind of reaction I would get if I posted this idea on Facebook. I simply changed my status to this and let the fireworks begin. Now I post a lot of things on Facebook, from contests to win free stuff to praise reports about what God has done through our ministry at Stand True. I was guessing that this would cause a stir, but would not reach the fever pitch that I get when I post that I will be giving away free stickers. Boy was I wrong.

Just one political comment brought out the passion in everyone and my status became a heated discussion in no time. I sat and watched people speaking out and engaging in discussion about something that meant so much to them. I got private e-mails from people who thought I was being a bad Christian witness for talking about flying my flag upside down. It was awesome; people were passionate.

I am not going to tell you who to vote for. I am going to beg you to vote. However I am not just talking about this election; I am talking about your life. I hate the fact that after an election so many people seem to shrink back into their apathy and just ride out the next four years until we get to cast another vote. Why can't this passion and action last past Election Day?

The results of this election will have an effect on everyone, no matter the outcome. Foreign policy, the economy, abortion, health care and so many more issues will be affected by who is the White House, but one thing will not. On January 20 th , when our new President is inaugurated, one thing will remain the same. God will still be on the throne and His sovereignty will not remain intact. God does not fear any Presidential administration and He can and will work in our nation no matter who sits in the White House.

No matter who ends up in the White House this January, we should not let this passion we have die down. People seem to think that depending on who wins things like abortion, hunger, poverty, war or anything we are concerned about will be magically fixed by our next President. They will not.

Imagine if we saw the same passion and action we are seeing towards this election being focused on feeding the hungry, giving water to the thirsty, standing for the voiceless or sharing the Gospel of Christ. What if all the volunteers from all the campaign offices of both parties decided to spend the same amount of time at soup kitchens, homeless shelters, homes for unwed mothers or youth outreaches? What if the amount of money that everyone donated to the candidates was not being donated to charities and ministries?

I want to issue a challenge everyone who is reading this. Have you volunteered, donated money or spent time talking to people about either candidate? Why not do the same when the election is over? Volunteer in your community and make a difference. Donate to a charity or ministry so they can continue to help people. Tell people about getting involved; don't let apathy take over this generation again.

More important than anything else is our passion for Christ. While a President may affect our lives here on earth, it is eternity that is most important. No politician can assure us of anything when it comes to eternity, only Christ's Blood can give us the hope we need. Imagine if we had the same passion for sharing the Gospel of Christ, as we do for sharing why our candidate is so important.

Deny apathy and embrace passion.

What To Say To A Woman Considering Abortion - Words and Reactions for the Pro-Life Day of Silent Solidarity

What To Say To A Woman Considering Abortion - Words and Reactions for the Pro-Life Day of Silent Solidarity

I am often asked what people should say to a woman who is considering abortion. I wish there were a magic answer that I could give that would help change the mind of every woman thinking about aborting her baby, but there is not. As you take a stand next Tuesday during the Pro-life Day of Silent Solidarity there will be times when talking is necessary. Not just next Tuesday, but any time you participate in pro-life activism there are important things to remember.

When answering this question I also have to address what not to say. I have stood outside abortion mills for over 18 years praying and protesting and I have even been arrested many times for praying in front of the doors. I have watched thousands of women walk into abortion mills and seen many different approaches by pro-lifers trying to save the babies.

The first mistake I see is anger. Pro-lifers can become so angry about abortion that they sometimes take it out on the women and just scare them right into the abortion mill. I have heard people call women murderers, whores, Jezebels, devil worshipers, and so much more. I have seen anti-abortion protesters so angry that they actually spit while they scream at people. I have never once seen this kind of behavior convince a women to stop and talk and change her mind.

I will admit that in the early years I used to scream and wave signs in people's faces. I let the frustration get to me as I watched these many young girls being taken in to the abortion mill by their parents or boyfriends. I would see the boyfriends leave and go to get food and sit in the parking lot and eat and smoke while their child was being killed inside that building. I let the frustration get to me and began to rely on myself for results instead of relying on God.

I want to make it clear that not all people that go to abortion mills to minister and pray act like this. We at Stand True strongly encourage people to go to the abortion mills for prayer and witnessing. There are highly effective ways of reaching women and helping them to make the right decision.

When a woman is going to an abortion mill she is usually scared and frustrated. She believes there is no other option for her other than abortion and there is no one to help her. These girls do not need someone yelling at them and telling them how evil they are; they need someone to love them and let them know how precious they are in God's eyes. They need someone to address their needs, not just the baby's needs. They need someone to approach them in the same way Christ would approach someone who was hurting and scared and about to make a huge mistake.

The first thing we tell people if they are going to try to talk to girls entering abortion mills is to not be holding a sign or wearing pro-life messages on their shirts. You should be dressed very friendly so you won't immediately scare the women away. We believe the first words to a woman entering the mill should be geared towards her and how she is doing, not just about the baby. Let her know you care about her.

The most powerful thing you can do when going to the abortion mill is pray. There is nothing more effective than prayer. When we go to our local abortion mill we spend the first hour as a group reading the Bible out loud, not shouting, but just reading out loud the Word of God. We then walk around the building praying for the women, the doctor, the nurses, the escorts, and everyone involved. We also look for opportunities to witness and share, not only with the women going in, but with the escorts and whoever is around. Not calling them names or condemning them to hell, but sharing Christ's love with them.

These ideas and principles are not just for the abortion mill, but for our every day life when we run into situations like this. Situations like the ones you may run into on the Pro-life Day of Silent Solidarity. I recently read an article about a young girl at a Catholic school who got pregnant and was told she could not walk the stage at her graduation, while the young man was allowed to. Not only was this total hypocrisy, but it was a dangerous way to treat this young girl. It is exactly that kind of reaction and treatment of girls that drive them to abortion.

Our words, especially our first words, to a girl who gets pregnant can determine the path she takes and can be the difference between life and death. As a father of three daughters I do wonder how I would react if one of my daughters came home one day and told me she was pregnant. What would I say? Would I blow up and lose my temper? Or would I love her no matter what mistake she made?

When we go to God in prayer and confess our sins, do you think He screams and yells and has a huge fit? I don't think so. Do you think he yells at us and tells us how horrible we are, and how much of a disgrace we are to the family? I don't think so. When we go to Him, He is faithful to love and forgive us. I pray that I never have to go through this with my daughters, but if I do, I pray that my first words to her are those of love.

Yes, we do know that abortion is the act of killing a human person and can never be permitted. Yes, we know that abortion is a sin and is detestable in God's eyes. Yes, we know that we need to stand up against this evil and be there to try to help people from making such a tragic and horrific mistake. But more importantly than all of that, we know those people need Christ and we need to love them as Christ would.

1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Psalm 127 3 Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,

The fruit of the womb is a reward.

4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,

So are the children of one's youth.

5 Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;

          They shall not be ashamed,

But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.

It always breaks my heart when I hear pregnancy talked about in a negative way or referred to as a burden. I have often heard negative remarks when I have told people about my wife having another child, even from family members. I look at each of my children as a blessing from God, a heritage from Him, and once again He has chosen to bless us with another precious child.

Carrie is pregnant with number 6, due some time in early June. I am as excited with this new baby as I have been with all of our children. I am already bugging my wife with all of my crazy ideas for names. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas; I just can't wait to hold my new baby.

Please pray for Carrie and me (especially Carrie) as we take this journey towards the birth of our new baby. There will be a lot of things the kids and I will need to do to help Carrie as we prepare for a new member of the Kemper Family.

One of the most important things we will need prayer for is finances as we do not have health insurance. Stand True does not have enough money to pay for health insurance so we will have to raise the money separately to pay for the midwife. I know that God will provide; He always does.

Tough Questions: Christians should be spreading the Gospel, not worrying about political issues like abortion.

Tough Questions: Christians should be spreading the Gospel, not worrying about political issues like abortion.

I cannot tell you how many pastors throw this at me as an excuse for not getting involved with pro-life work or even talking about it from the pulpit.  It actually surprises me that a pastor would even try to justify his apathy and lack of involvement in standing up for life.

Obviously we all know that as a Christian s our main focus is to spread the Gospel and share the hope we have in Christ.  We are commanded to “ Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation.” Mark 16:15

The idea that taking a stand for the almost 4,000 children that are being ripped limb from limb every day by surgical abortion is contrary to the Gospel , is simply ludicrous. In fact, I would say that when we do not stand up for the voiceless or love our neighbor as ourselves, we are not truly preaching the Gospel.

I remember one pastor in particular who told me that I had no business telling anyone that abortion was wrong.  He said I should only tell people about Jesus and nothing else.  I laid out a situation for him to answer using his logic.  What if you came upon a man beating a woman in an alley?  Would you walk up to the man and tap him on the shoulder and tell him about Jesus or would you first stop the man from beating the women and make sure she was taken care of?

He tried to wiggle out of answering the question at first but eventually said he would first stop the man from harming the woman and make sure she was ok.  I asked him why he would not just tell them man about Jesus and not worry about his behavior?  He said because the woman was in imminent danger and needed to be rescued.

The fact is we are also called in Scripture to “Deliver those who are being taken away to death. And those who are staggering to slaughter, Oh hold them back. If you say, "See, we did not know this," Does He not consider it who weighs the hearts?” Proverbs 24:11-12

We are also called to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 10:27

We can also look at Matthew 25 where we are taught that when we do not feed the hungry, give water to the thirsty and clothe the naked then we are not doing that for Christ.  I could fill this commentary with pages of Scripture references that would show us that preaching the Gospel is more than just mere words.

When babies are being killed by the thousands every day, are we loving our neighbor as ourselves when we ignore this? Is our neighbor just the guy who lives next door?  Did the Good Samaritan stop to see if he knew the man in the ditch or ask God if he was called to a ditch ministry before he helped the man?  No, he saw his fellow human person in distress and he stopped and helped him.

So many people tell me that their pastor will not talk about abortion from the pulpit.  They don't want to talk about political issues or possibly offend anyone in the church.

Here is a question I would ask them: if you were told as you were walking up to the pulpit to deliver your sermon that a man with a knife was heading to the nursery to stab all the children in the nursery, would you warn people from the pulpit or would you say that the pulpit is only for preaching the Word ?  Of course they would warn people, I don't know a single pastor in the world who would not jump up and immediately warn everyone about the danger the children were in.

If that same pastor were told before his sermon that they were opening a new abortion mill down the street where about 20 babies a day were going to be aborted daily, would he feel the same urgency to warn his congregation about the danger facing those children?

Most of the time it would have to go through some kind of committee or vote to see if the church wanted to have some kind of official outreach to that abortion mill.  There would be so much red tape that it may take a year to even get an announcement in the bulletin about a possible ministry team being formed.

Are the children that would die in the nursery more valuable than the children that would die in the abortion mill?  Why are we not just as horrified about children being killing in an abortion mill as we would be about children being killed in a church nursery?

There is no excuse for the apathy and lack of involvement of the church when it comes to abortion.  We have allowed the government to politicize abortion to the point that we just don't pay attention any more.  We are more than happy to let our votes on Election Day be our only action we ever take as we leave it up to politicians who never deliver on their promises.

Preaching the Gospel is not just leaving cheesy Bible tracts with a lousy tip on the table at Applebee's after church.  Preaching the Gospel is not just saying “ Jesus loves you” to your friends as work after laughing at all their dirty jokes.  Preaching the Gospel goes far beyond our words and must also include action.  Feeding the poor, giving water to the thirsty and yes, speaking up for the voiceless IS preaching the Gospel.

Tough Questions Series - What Would The Punishment Be If Abortion Were Illegal?

Tough Questions Series - What Would The Punishment Be If Abortion Were Illegal?

This is probably one of the toughest questions to answer as a pro-lifer and I fully expect to receive a lot of hate mail about this commentary. I have had this discussion with many people who have solid pro-life views, yet are confused as to how they feel about the laws and punishment when it comes to abortion. People ask me what happens to the women and doctors if we overturn Roe. vs Wade.

My first response is that the end goal of the pro-life movement is over turning Roe vs Wade. We absolutely want that to happen, however, that is only the first step. Overturning Roe will only send the decision back to the individual states for them to pass laws. Most likely any law passed by a state will then be challenged in court and end up right back to the Supreme Court.

The end goal is to establish that life begins at the moment of fertilization. This will only be achieved with a paramount Human Life Amendment to the Constitution. With a Human Life Amendment we can establish the starting point in a human persons life that cannot be challenged by any court. This will give children in the womb the same rights and protections under the Constitution as any other human person.

This is where the dilemma of the question begins. Do you truly believe that a child in the womb is a full human person? Do you believe that the unborn child is equal in value as a three year old child playing on a playground? As a pro-life advocate I do not see how you could answer no to either of those questions.

The core of the pro-life argument is that every single human person from fertilization to natural death should be protected. If we say that the child in the womb is a human person and that their life is already begun, then how can we say they should not be protected equally?

The problem comes when we look at this from the wrong direction. Whenever I debate someone who is defending abortion the first thing they try and do is steer the argument onto rabbit trails. They will bring up all of the emotional situations and try to only argue from the extreme cases. They do this because they know if they can tug the heart strings of those in the audience they can sway them and distract them from the truth.

The same thing happens when I discuss the issue of punishment for abortion with pro-lifers. They talk about the desperate women who knows it is illegal but can't afford her baby? They ask if she should really be held accountable for just trying to make a hard decision? We have no way of knowing what is going on in her life or what she is going through.

I admit there is an emotional element to this that can blur the issue. I know that no one wants to go throwing thousands of women in prison. It is sincerely a tough question.

Lets change the direction we look at this however. Just like in my debates against pro-abortion advocates, I would steer away from the distractions and focus on the core issue. What is abortion? Abortion is the killing of a human person. Just like stabbing a three old on a playground is killing a human person, stabbing a baby in the womb is also killing a human person.

If we establish a Human Life Amendment to the Constitution declaring that children are full human persons from the moment of fertilization, then we must treat them as such.

When the woman in Texas drowned her five children several years ago, what was your thought on her punishment? Did you believe because she had some rough times at home she should be excused from what she did? The fact is, she killed her five children and had to answer to the law. While we might feel sorry for her emotional state, we must also want justice for the five children who were killed.

In the same way, we must look at the children in the womb as equal in value as the children who were drowned and demand justice for them also. We can certainly feel empathy for what a woman might be going through, however, that cannot change the fact that she has broken the law and ended the life of her child. We know there is forgiveness is Christ, but justice must also be served.

If we make a separate law and separate punishment for someone who has an abortion then we are saying that the child in the womb is somehow not as valuable then any other human person killed. If we say that intentionally killing one child is less of a crime then intentionally killing another child, then our whole argument for life is destroyed.

I know many of you are probably upset right now or even confused or torn about what you think. I understand completely. I have spent 17 years thinking about this question and going over every possible way to look at it. The one constant thing that I always come back to is the fundamental right to life of every human person, and I will not stop fighting until every child is protected.

Stand True Mourns Our 5 Year Anniversary

Stand True Mourns Our 5 Year Anniversary

Most organizations would want to celebrate their fifth year as an organization. While I am excited about what God has done with Stand True over the last 5 years, I am not excited that we have to exist. With every passing year, that is another year that children in the womb are not protected as human persons.

I want to thank all of you who have been supporting this ministry, both financially and through your prayers. God has used us to change hearts and save lives. We have seen so much growth in the Christ centered pro-life movement and we are looking forward to continuing the work God has set before us.

Here are just a few things God has done over the past five years.

The Pro-life Day of Silent Solidarity has grown into one of the biggest pro-life events in the world. Last year, students from more than 4,600 campuses in 19 countries participated in the event. This year we already have more than triple the registrations we had at this time last year.

The National Mother's Day Baby Shower has helped provide much needed resources for homes for unwed mothers and crisis pregnancy centers.

We have built a network of tens of thousands of pro-life youth that are dedicated and passionate about bringing an end to the abortion holocaust and building a culture of life. We have been able to educate, equip and activate them through our use of the internet. Stand True's use of social networking has been unparalleled and was the subject of a thesis for a UCLA grad student last year. Just this week, we launched our own social networking site just for pro-lifers to help them connect with others across the nation. See site at - www.standtruefamily.com

We have developed a line of pro-life, chastity and modesty clothing, educational resources and tools for young people that are relevant to this generation. Through the use of original artwork, photography and graphic art done by this generation, we can reach young people with a message that is both educational and cool.

Stand True is a pro-life movement that young people can connect with and take ownership of. We provide them with material, education and events that they can participate in and reach their generation with. We are able to communicate with this generation in a way that they understand and relate to.

We are developing literature that deals with all of the tough questions they will face about pro-life in a way that is simple, logical and easy to grasp. We are answering the questions that they have, not just what we want to tell them.

You have stood with Stand True for five years now and we are grateful for your support. We also need your help to enter into the next five years at full speed. If you have believed in our work enough to support us financially, do you believe in us enough to ask your friends and family to support this work?

We have set a goal this year to gain 200 more supporters of $30 a month. These can be individuals, youth groups, families, churches, businesses or anyone. We want to hire two full time people in the next year to help make this growth possible. We also need to buy a second van and trailer to extend the summer outreach to the west coast. We are also going to attempt to tour with the largest secular concert festival in the nation, Warped Tour. Imagine how amazing it would be to have a pro-life booth at every stop of this concert tour.

We just purchased a dedicated web server today to help us expand our online capabilities. We have been working with one of the best web designers to develop our web sites and expand our capabilities on the internet. We have had custom web engines built for the Pro-life Day of Silent Solidarity web site that enabled students from all over the world to register instantly. We are just beginning to tap into the resources that are available online to help in this work.

Our promise to you for the next five years is to never give up or slow down in this fight. We know it is a hard and uphill battle but we are committed to seeing an end to abortion and a culture of life established in this country. Please continue to pray for us and the work at hand.

If you would like to receive our monthly support letter through the mail, please send your mailing address to info@standtrue.com

We are also starting a special e-mail version of our support letter that will go out once a month to help us save money on postage and printing. If you would like to get that seperate support e-mail, please send the e-mail address you would like us to use to info@standtrue.com

The "Be a Voice for _________ Trend"

The "Be a Voice for _________ Trend"

Have you noticed the fast growing social justice trend? Each day seems to see as many new social justice organizations as Starbucks locations. If you name a subject or cause I can probably name at least three new groups fighting for that issue.

First let me say I was being somewhat sarcastic above: I am NOT against social justice groups. I am very happy this generation seems to be shedding the apathy that's plagued us in the past. I am excited to see people taking action rather than just complaining about the world's problems. What I am worried about is that this is just another trend which will die out when the novelty fades.

So often I see causes and movements rise to popularity, then fade as people get bored or "grow up" and enter "the real world". It seems that, like music styles, even causes run their course and then become trendy or outdated. Kids that get involved get mad when everyone else suddenly likes a particular organization so they move on to the next new thing. The passion we have for making a difference often fades as we graduate college and enter the workforce so we can pay for the American dream we're programmed to believe is our prize.

I've watched this scenario play out over the last 17 years of my involvement in the pro-life movement. In 1993 I started an organization called Rock For Life. For years the pro-life movement had been mostly older people who had no real connection or understanding of youth culture. When we started, there were very few adults who considered Rock For Life relevant or necessary.

Over the next few years I watched as the popularity of Rock For Life and the youth pro-life movement began to grow. I partnered with the guitar player from a popular Christian rock band, Erik Whittington and we began to see things blow up. By the late 90s and early 2000s we saw an explosion of kids wanting to take a stand against abortion.

For several years Rock For Life was one of the most popular and well known pro-life organizations in the country. Our presence and popularity at music festival was only rivaled by the biggest bands. You couldn't walk five feet at most festivals without seeing someone wearing a Rock For Life shirt. It seemed there was a momentum that could not be stopped as more and more kids wanted to get involved. However, it seems this was just a trend to most people.

For the past five years I've been running Stand True and have seen incredible growth in this new organization. With a different approach we have seen a new resurgence of young people wanting to get involved with pro-life. I have once again seen a passion from young people wanting to take a stand for the innocent children who are being killed by abortion. I just wonder if this too is just another trend that will die off when the novelty wears thin again.

Now I know there are many of you who have been involved with Rock For Life or Stand True for many years. I know that this is not just a trend to a lot of you. I understand that even though the novelty has worn off for many, there is still a faithful group of people who are committed to the work we do.

I understand we have to live life and take care of responsibilities. I do, however, wonder if what we have been sold as the "American Dream" is a good excuse to forget what we were passionate about in our youth? It seems that as long as we have the good job, nice house, 2.5 kids and are plugged into a local church with the best programs and the coolest coffee bar we are satisfied. We get so comfortable inside our perfect Christian community bubble that we forget what is going outside. As long as we get our fix of Fox News and vote republican we feel we know what is going on and are satisfied that our politicians are taking care of things.

If that is what growing up and becoming a responsible adult is, then I refuse to take part. If that is what it means to be a good "American Christian", I need a new way to refer to myself. I will not allow the passion of my youth to be replaced by the complacency and apathy of adulthood.

I am excited to see so many young people wanting to make a difference in this world. I am thrilled to see so many great organizations starting up and wanting to take action against things like hunger, thirst, poverty, AIDS, human trafficking and abortion. I want to see these organizations succeed and take root in our hearts so the passion never dies. I don't want to see this new popularity for social justice ever die off like a trend.

Now more than ever there are great opportunities to get involved in organizations that make a real difference in the world. With the internet and social networking websites it's easy to find a cause. Why not turn off the corporate news and research events the cameras won't show you? Turn off reality shows and see the reality of a world that needs us to love our neighbor as our self?

If you think our next president will have the answer or the change we need, you're fooling yourself. If you think just by voting for someone who is either "socially conservative" or "standing for change" you've done your part, you will be sadly disappointed. Voting is important, but it cannot be the extent of our action. Get involved.

I know there are many great organizations to get involved with out there. Not every one of these will be organization you agree with completely, but they do a lot of good work. Please take some time to see if any of them have programs or projects you can get involved with.
